A Full Set means brand-new nail enhancements built on every nail from scratch — either using acrylic (a powder-and-liquid mixture that hardens chemically) or hard gel (a thick gel cured under UV light). Both create strong, long-wearing nails far more durable than natural nails. Your nail technician will discuss your preferred shape (almond, coffin, square, oval), length, and color/finish. The application takes 90-120 minutes, and you walk out with a fully sculpted set that lasts 2-3 weeks before you need a fill.

Did you know? Acrylic nails were originally invented by accident in 1957 by a dentist named Frederick Slack — he broke his fingernail and improvised a repair using dental acrylic. The technique stuck (literally), and the dental-acrylic formula was eventually adapted for nail use. Today, acrylic nails are a $1.5 billion industry in North America, and many of our students go on to work at high-end nail bars after graduation. A custom full set at a Vancouver nail bar typically runs $65 – $120; ours is $30 because of our student-salon model.

At our Abbotsford campus, our nail program is one of our most popular tracks, and our students complete extensive practice before they touch a real client. I have been attending for facials, hair removal and they are absolutely wonderful and professional. I would recommend this academy either if you are pursuing a career or just to pamper yourself with their various services offered. I am very happy I decided to go and continue going.
